Driftwood Beach
On the north end of Jekyll Island, Driftwood Beach resembles a graveyard for trees. Oak and pine roots protrude from these shores due to the gradual erosion of the north shore. In some cases, entire full-sized trees have washed ashore. The intricate designs of wave-worn driftwood make for an excellent photo-op. Driftwood Beach is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , online itinerary creator Edition.

This beach is uniquely beautiful and one you don’t want to miss. Our entire family, ages 4-70, enjoyed it. Lots of room to run, climb, and play with marvelous photo ops.

My husband and I decided to escape for a few days to a place we'd never been. I chose Jekyll Island because I wanted to see Driftwood Beach. So glad we did. Going back tomorrow with our dogs!

Super cool spot. We just happened to walk out at golden hour before sunset and there were tons of photographers here (and people). Well worth it for the sunset views. Very cool experience, ample parking (including ADA), and easy to access sand trails to the beach.

This is a really cool site to experience due to it's unique nature. Although you can certainly try to swim here it isn't the best beach for that setup, especially with kids with other places like the dune beach close at hand. The views late or early morning with the shadows on the fallen wood is amazing. Awesome place to enjoy a stroll and nature though.

Love, love, LOVE visiting this beach!! It's so beautiful and serene. Reminds me of something straight out of a Tim Burton movie. So much to see, very picturesque and looks completely different at night. You also have a terrific view of St. Simon's Island and their lighthouse in the distance. I drive down around twice a month to visit Jekyll and I always go to Driftwood Beach.

I am not normally a beach person, but I absolutely love Driftwood Beach! It’s unreal how many trees are there and the size is impressive. It is just fascinating to walk around and the photo opportunities and endless. You really have to go here if you haven’t already. It is truly impressive.

Pretty cool place on Jekyll, and fairly big as well. I was nervous when we pulled up that there wouldn’t be enough parking (there was) and that the hike to the beach would be rather long (it wasn’t). We managed the -100 yard trail to the beach and popped out to see a few others there as well. We walked around for a while but everyone was very polite in trying to stay out of each other’s way when taking photos. Definitely go at low tide as high tide will not leave you much space to walk around.
