Kona Style, Kailua-Kona

Had the best experience, On both Captain Cook, and Manta Ray trips. The crew is always working so hard and still all have smiles and happy stories to share. The reef fish were outstanding, we saw a monk seal too. The Manta swim was breathtaking, I cried because I wanted to see them so badly, the Captain was so kind. When you only have a few chances in life to experience such great things..its EMOTIONAL!! We are not rich..we got lucky with trip to Kona Coast, these trips are worth the cost for sure. The Catamaran was comfortable, with great stairway entry, easy in easy out. Good drinks, good music. Great staff!! Bring dry clothes and jacket, water is cold. They provide wet suit top..bring bottoms or full suit if you have it for Manta ray night viewing. CAPT COOK is warm..watch out for kayaks. Very professional company, definitely the best !!

Simply incredible!!! The crew was fantastic, the boat was amazing, and the experience was excellent. The crew served drinks and food, gave knowledgeable information about the island and provided history of the native Hawaiians. Snorkeling was great and on the ride back we saw whales and dolphins! We’ll be going again next time we’re on the island!

We've been on several other catamaran snorkel trips, and this was right at the top. The crew was welcoming and helpful start to finish, engaged with the passengers and looking to make our experience great - they care and it shows. Snorkel gear is provided, light breakfast of pastries and fruit, lunch of fruit and sandwich fixings with pasta salad, drinks available. Snorkeling at Captain Cook was great, easy in-and-out with a lowered ramp and steps, or just jump off the side ;) . Captain Tanner and Max and Brit and the other crew member were just plain great, like old pals hosting you. Leaving from the Kona pier a mile away from our hotel was an added plus (although finding parking can be very tricky). When we go back we will seek out Kona Style again, hopefully next time we can catch the sunset trip!

We were soooo impressed by this company! the whole crew from our Manta Ray tour was amazing. We really didn't know what to expect when we got on the boat, but the crew did not disappoint, and the manta rays definitely didn't either! The crew were all very friendly and helpful throughout the whole thing. You could tell they all really enjoyed their jobs and didn't mind the 100s of questions from us tourists. We literally just had a swim out to the Manta Ray lights and watch while the crew told us super informative stuff as the rays sway by. This is well worth doing, it was pretty magical!

Kona Style sets out to create a memorable experience for the guests from check in until returning to the dock. From the staff at check-in to the crew on the boat the company culture was evident and to be congratulated: warm, inviting, knowledgeable, professional and polite. I had been worried that the atmosphere on the boat might be too 'party' and 'forced' fun but the crew made it just feel relaxed and comfortable and took the time to talk to the guests and make them feel part of the whole experience. We saw flying fish on the motor out (don't expect a sail to be raised although it does happen from time to time apparently!) And then in the bay we saw dolphins which were an added bonus to the main event! The snorkelling was amazing and the crew were on hand to point fish out to us or just make sure that we were all safe. (The snorkel equipment we were given was in good condition and comfortable.) We had ample time to explore the area before taking a more sightseeing route back to town. The crew were on hand to point out the interesting landmarks and historical sites that we passed (with an AMAZING reverse manouver that Captain Tanner pulled off in a grotto to show us an exposed collapsed lava tube) I highly recommend this trip for adults and kids but fair warning - it is a boat, moving and sometimes rolling through the water at speed so take away sickness precautions if you are prone and if you are mobility challenged this may not be the boat for you as there is a certain amount of clambering involved.
