Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is a state park in southwestern Utah, United States, located between Mount Carmel Junction and Kanab, south and west of U.S. Highway 89 in Kane County. The park features uniquely pink-hued sand dunes located beside red sandstone cliffs.

The dunes are formed from the erosion of pink-colored Navajo Sandstone surrounding the park. High winds passing through the notch between the Moquith and Moccasin Mountains pick up loose sand particles and then drop them onto the dunes as a result of the Venturi effect. The dunes are estimated to be between 10,000 and 15,000 years old.
The park allows camping, hiking, off-road vehicle driving, and photography. There is a conservation area of 265 acres (1.07 km2), and the total grounds include 3,370 acres (13.6 km2). It was established as a Utah state park in 1963.

Sandboarding is also a popular activity, sandboards and sand sleds can be rented directly at the park.
The Coral Pink Sand Dunes tiger beetle (Cicindela albissima) is endemic to the dunes, being found nowhere else in the world. The park also contains most of the remaining individuals of the rare plant known as Welsh's milkweed (Asclepias welshii), a federally listed threatened species.

  • Haylie was quick to check us in and get us out to explore when we came last season. Everything was clean when we got there, really appreciate that. Must stop if you are in the area!

  • Great place to visit. Both kids and adults can play in the sand. The sand is cool in the morning but heats up quickly. The sand is very fine and will get into your sneakers. It’s probably better to go bare foot. It’s pretty relaxed here and isn’t crowded. They only $10 for a regular vehicle to enter this park. There is a large picnic area to enjoy your lunch in the shade. They offer sled rentals too if you are interested. Pretty remote location so most cell phones won’t have service here.
  • So I’ve been to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Therefore I wasn’t expecting much from this place. Boy was I wrong. The dunes themselves are such a unique color. And if you go close to sunset, they seem to change color, which is spectacular. The sand sledding here was great. Perhaps just as good if not better than Great Sand Dunes due to the shorter and easier walk. Regardless, if you are in the area, make sure you stop.
  • Trip in and out was a bit bumpy but, enjoyable. Staff at gate were friendly and knowledgeable. Picked up permit to get my drone up in the air and we got some good overhead shots of those boarding down the dunes. Nice overlook with info plaques. Clean restrooms and nice camping sites. Only downfall was the pricing of ATV tours. I personally thought $160, for two for an hour ride, was a bit much. That's just me though. Overall, great visit for us.
  • Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is a very unique and pretty Park of coral colored sand. Lots of pretty flowers all over 🌸 💐 worth a stop to check it out. The park has an observation deck if you didn’t want to get sand in your shoes. This park is pet friendly Other then checking out the sand there’s not much to do so this stop was quick one.
  • I've visited this place after 16 years. There were pristine dunes back then.. Now you could rent a special car and drive on those dunes, you could slide on boards.. I always find it wonderful. Ladies in the visitor center were nice and very helpful. It is even allowed to use drones after registration and paying $5 (of course you need to have valid license). During our visit there was such a terrible wind there that it almost blew people away... Also our drone was unhappy to fly under such conditions and we ended very soon 🙂
