I’m going to be honest… I think I loved this one more than The Narrows! I know…. Don’t judge. But this was an absolutely beautiful hike! Loved every second of it!

This hike is great for beginning hikers, families and seasoned hikers. The start of this hike is very exposed and get hot in mid summer but there are lots of different river crossings that allow you to cool off. The river crossings are moderate and my kids felt safe doing them. Would not recommend taking kids under six years old unless they’re being carried. My kids loved the natural slide in the rock into the river. We did the entire hike in about three hours taking our time to play in the river eat lunch and play on the rock slide. I would recommend this hike to anyone on our way to Zion or St. George. It’s not very crowded which is nice but it does require reservations very early in advance and there is a fee of $12 per person

Certainly worth a visit. I highly recommend getting some waterproof boots or rent the ones in town because there are several creek crossings 20+ just to get to the start of the slot canyon. Inside you will definitely need them or prepare to get wet. Truly majestic any time of year but remember it gets dark fast in the canyon so watch the light and be aware of the forecast. Flash floods are no joke

Make sure you’re at peace with getting wet up to your ankles! And if you look at AllTrails I think they say you can get this done much quicker than what it actually takes. I’d allot at least 3 hours to enjoy criss-crossing the water and taking pics, definitely more if your group has elderly or less-nimble participants. Otherwise, its gorgeous!

•Permit required: $12/pp(via website) •Daily ticket: sometimes (ticket booth) {Saw a family of 5 turned away for not having tickets} •Bathroom & picnic tables: yes •Parking lot: yes (free) •Water spigot: to rinse We saw a butterfly ( Arizona sister), a bird(American dipper), and a snake (bullsnake?). Visited on 9/8/22, hot weather, water level (ankle to knee high for 5'2" female), very versatile trail.

Great hike. Ankle deep to knee deep water. Wear appropriate footwear and neoprene socks. Bring a hiking pole for balance. Some areas require more physical exertion than others. I would say that it is a good family hike to the first falls but for smaller children it might be a little hard after that because of some climbing required and water up to 18 inches or more to go through.
