Create an itinerary including Kapalua Beach
A C-shaped cove makes Kapalua Beach a prime location for snorkeling, swimming, and sunbathing. Also referred to as D.T. Fleming Beach, the white sand shoreline fronts the Ritz-Carlton, with public access available from Honokahua Bay. The waves here are known for good surfing and boogie boarding conditions, while the abundance of coral reefs and sea life make this beach one of the best snorkeling spots in the area. Head to the north end of the beach for clear snorkeling (thanks to the more rocky terrain). Sand tends to sit in the bay's center, making the water more cloudy there. Watch for sea turtles or Hawaiian monk seals along the beach. Use our Kapalua online trip itinerary builder to arrange your visit to Kapalua Beach and other attractions in Kapalua.

  • Relaxing times on this expansive beach. We rented chairs, snorkeling gear and had the time of our lives. The beaches are so clean and the people are so friendly there. Beat the crowds and go here.

  • We really enjoyed spending a few days of our vacation at this beach. It's great for snorkelling with a ton of fish and turtles. The waves weren't bad, at least the days we were there they weren't, and it wasn't overcrowded. Parking is limited but other than that we really don't have any complaints. Probably our favourite beach on the island.
  • This was our favorite beach during our trip. The snorkeling is great, we saw turtles every time we went there. It’s a perfect beach to swim, snorkel, be amazed by the sunset (which is incredible there) or just relax on the beach. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas there along with snorkel gear. There’s also toilets and free parking (if you go there at max 8-9 AM, otherwise you won’t find any places available)
  • Very nice beach to enjoy the day and great spot for sunset. Easily accessible by car, toilets, showers & water fountain available at the entrance before the beach. Limited options for food though.
  • A really beautiful beach with bathroom, shower and a lifeguard shack. They sell snacks and rent out snorkel gear/ paddleboard/ floaters etc. Sea turtles hang out here. Would recommend not getting in if the waters are really rough. We watched two water rescues in a very short time one day. If the waters are calm it’s perfect! A beautiful, relaxing place with a really nice vibe.
  • This is one of our favorite beaches in Maui because the snorkeling is fantastic! It's pretty small and the parking is very limited, so go early to claim your spot. There is a public restroom and a place where you can rent water gear. It's also the start of the Kapalua Coastal Trail, which is a lovely walk!
