  • Beautiful and famous on the island for its white sand, Anini Beach is near a reef that calms the waves. Beware, there is no lifeguard on duty and the strong currents could test your swimming skills...

  • Cool little spot. Lots of shade on the beach. Water is very shallow and stays that way for quite a way out. It's protected by a big reef so practically no waves. Too shallow and not enough to see where I tried to snorkel. Only about 30" deep, sharp rocks/coral in the water so bring reef shoes if you plan on wading out.
  • Perfect beach for the kids. Beautiful coral reef. Super shallow water. You can walk to the coral reef and you stay above water the whole time probably chest deep at most. Great spot for beginner snorkelers. I saw about 10 sea turtles not too far out. Maybe 30 to 40 ft off the shore line during the month of June. There are some shaded areas to keep the kids out of the sun under the trees. Nice little park area with benches and decent size parking lot that filled up pretty fast. We got there at 9:00 a.m. and the beach was pretty empty. The beach did fill up pretty fast within the next hour or two. Schools of fish all over, especially at the coral reef. All around great spot. This is the last Beach we are going to before heading back to the mainland. Untill next time Kauai. I love this island. ⛱️ 🌞 😎
  • We drove up to the Anini from our VRBO in Poipu, which was about an hour away. We got there early in the morning (6:30 am) so we mostly had the beach to ourselves. The beach is beautiful and has trees for some partial shade if needed. There were a few fish swimming around, but there wasn't too much diversity and it wasn't that exciting after a while. We felt like there were other places around the island that had better snorkeling. There are no bathrooms or other facilities, so plan ahead. Parking is very limited (less than 10 spots) so you'll need to get there really early. The spots were all filled by 8:30 am.
  • Definitely the best snorkeling I've had since I've been in Kauai. Very flat water (critical for taking macro shots) and the water is shallow (so not a lot of light loss). It is clear however that there has been a lot of coral damage here though unfortunately. I saw green sea turtles at cleaning stations(that was an awesome experience) various fish (convict surgeons, Hawaiian Toby's, various trigger fish, a moray eel, i.e. there is a lot to see!!). This is beginner level snorkeling so great for the entire family. There is also a good amount of parking, but definitely the earlier you get there the better.
  • Amazing beach. Calm warm water for snorkeling. No rip tide because of the coral. Lots of fish and turtles. Crystal clear water. Just perfect.
