Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby. Road may be chained, but you can move it during visitor hours (6 AM-6 PM). Great view of the ocean from a secluded sanctuary. We were here for a while and.... more

Such a stunning place! Worth the drive but the road in is very rough once you turn off the Hana road. Park at the top or watch for massive pot holes. Sit and enjoy the ocean near the ruins.

Hidden spot that you must walk to see!! Past the church is amazing views. The water rolloff of the rock beach sounds like the fizzle from fireworks. A experience one must have.

Great view point along Hana Hwy. 4 wheel drive only as the road is a little rough and can get muddy. The grounds are pretty and the views are spectacular.

We visited this church to start our sea-to-summit Haleakala hike. This area is beautiful during sunrise and its very easy to get all the way to the water. The drive down (and back up if you so choose) is rocky, but can be done in any car with enough clearance. From here, it's back up the road and toward the start of the Haleakala trailhead. A gorgeous start to a gorgeous hike!

Looks like a nice beach behind the church. Access can be an issue. Sign at the gate says 4-wheel drive and gate is locked at 6pm. Walk down is about 1/3-mile but steep in parts. Shower and restroom facilities provided by the Church.
