Kelleys Island History Museum is run by the Kelleys Island Historical Association and its volunteers. KIHA was formed in 1980 working out of the historic German Reformed Church. the museum is in a larger building on the grounds. KIHA's primary purpose is to preserve and share the Kelleys Island's story. The museum is located on Division St. just North of downtown, next to the big old stone church. In addition to the museum, there is also a great gift shop and a resale shop in the parsonage house.

  • Be sure and check out their thrift shop next door, which is how they generate funds to keep the museum going. We didn't purchase anything, but it was like a small antique store.

  • This volunteer-run venture certainly does it's very best to bring to life the history and development of the island. I was enthralled by the information and the artifacts on display. All in all well.....  more

  • Great place to recharge! The museum was free for our daughter's island birthday celebration so that was nice We were early in the season so it wasn't crowded & got to see some migratory birds also!
  • This was a nice area. The church has a original house that belongs to the church set up as a little thrift store that supports local people in need. Stop buy I'm sure they will have something you will like plus you can read the history of the church and the house. They are both historical land marks. They have a big sign that tells the history of both. The lady that was running the store was very friendly.
  • Very interesting place packed with the history of the island
  • Beautiful old church and history center. Since it is staffed primary from volunteers on the island not all the buildings are monitored all the time when they are open.
  • Sweet little museum. Collection demonstrated island life throughout history. Really nice staff. People should visit the cemetery as well for history.
