Crandon Beach, Key Biscayne

The best natural beach umbrellas. Water is so clean and calm. We visited it on Monday. It was super quiet. Probably weekend would be the complete opposite.

I was so happy to discover this area! I parked in the south lot on a Tuesday morning. Clearly it’s a popular place as there were hundreds of spots but quite empty on a weekday morning. I first went to the gardens near the south parking lot. Beautiful place to walk around with an abundance of birds and a couple of crocs. Then I walked over to the beach and it was empty! I was there when the seaweed machine was scraping the shore which is a really nice feature. The shoreline was beautiful and just off of the shore are the iconic palm trees. They offer the perfect shade if you don’t want to pay for chairs and an umbrella. It was the perfect beach for me - low key, gorgeous, and not crowded.

A nice beach. When we were there, there was a lot of seaweed along the shore line and many small Portuguese Man of War Jellyfish. We had to watch carefully so as not to step on them.

Very clean beach and white sand makes you eager to swim, the waves are very nice and not strong, kids can enjoy too. There are many birds that make the place wonderful and interesting. It is also not crowded, or rather, very empty 😬🤍

Been here a couple times, and it’s a great spot. Much more relaxed and less crowded than South Beach. There’s some seaweed in the water, but not too bad. Some nice palm trees for free shade, but you can also pay $40 (way too much) to rent an umbrella and a couple chairs if need be. There’s a food and drink spot that comes by on ATV to take your order and deliver your food. Food is pricey and not great, but it works if you are hungry.
