  • Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Facilities were clean and well maintained. The artifacts and ship's hull display are tasteful and interesting.

  • Very impressive! Laid out nicely, with tons of information. Great film for a brief explanation. One could easily spend all day in here!

  • Interesting museum, definitely worth a visit before or after the CSS Neuse replica nearby. On the second floor there is an original Model 1851 US Army Officer Saber, which is the same saber that today’s Marine NCO Sword is patterned from. Very interesting for a Marine to see.
  • This was a extremely well done museum about the CSS Neuse as well as local battles and the impact on the greater community. You can easily spend well over an hour here. Entrance fee is only $5.
  • I love history and this is a great place to go to. I never realize how big the ironclad ships until I saw the CSS Neuse.
  • Fell in love with the Civil War museum on the top floor and learning about the knowledge of the CSS Neuse and the lifestyle of Civil War soldiers broading more of the pov on the Southern soldier
  • Visited for the first time. This was well worth the trip. They have a theatre as well as a good amount of historic displays in the main room with the Neuse. Across the street outside is a replica that I believe is life sized. If your interested in history you should enjoy a trip here.
