Big Slide Mountain, Lake Placid

Breathtaking views from all the Brothers. Easy hike. Nice scrambled. Quite crowded on the Big Slide summit during a summer weekend. A group was installing a ladder on one of the steeper slides; hikers will appreciate their work! Took the red trail down the mountain. A bit longer, but worth every step for the peaceful, wooded stroll back to the Garden.

Big slide mountains has three major views...we climbed upto first brother which is around 1.5 miles one way...very easy trail..you can seat there and enjoy water sound along with birds chirping...not so crowded

I'm questioning why people are following google map directions for hiking trails. If you don't bring a map with you your asking for trouble. Especially in the Adirondacks. They have their own weather system. The trail up here in spots is difficult to navigate because of the steepness of certain exposed areas however the view makes it worth it!

Big Slide is a great and rewarding hike for any aspiring 46er. Climbing the three brothers provided plenty of views of the rest of the Great range. I can always appreciate the stairs towards the summit, and I'm glad to see the brass pin is still in place! Parking is 10 bucks per car. Sunrise and Sunset hikers may not see people manning the toll booth, but it's always nice to pay for your spot.

Big slide mountain via the brothers is definitely one of my favorite homes in the adirondacks. A lot of climbing up rock faces, and pretty much continuous beautiful views along the way. You will get to meet many families of flies at the top though! Hiked on 20190707.
