Wonderful period home. Great tour and details. The Snyder gallery had a great selection of period furniture. The special exhibition on the long guns of the Revolutionary War was fantastic.

Visited mostly for the Revolutionary Long Rifle display in the barn. Well worth the admission! The barn also has a good display of Lancaster clocks and period furniture. Arrived late in the day so did not have time for the full tour.

Awesome day, toured the Lancaster rifles exhibit and the house. Really like walking in footsteps of general George Washington's closest military aid, General Hand.

If you are a fan of history, or historic places, this is a must visit. Our tour group was small and felt very personal, lead by a very knowledgeable guide. You are brought to each room on the first and second floors and given not only information about that room, but stories about the family and their role during the Revolutionary War and beyond. The tour also includes the basement kitchen, which is remarkably preserved and includes fantastic period pieces. The last part of the tour was up the hill a short walk in a restored period barn that has been relocated to the spot that the original barn stood. It includes a pretty extensive collection of Lancaster area Grandfather clocks and other pieces. The guide gave a brief explanation of what is included in this collection and then let us loose for self guided exploration. Important note, although there is a Porta Potty in the parking area, there are very nice and clean restrooms available up at the barn building. On the day we went, there was only one employee available for the two buildings, so access may depend on if a tour is going on at the home.

Great experience for our whole family. Excellent tour guide and historic home. Very cool that the home has remained almost completely original. Museum was interesting. The kids enjoyed it as well.
