  • It is small museum, but it’s packed with artifacts and photos of the the Lassen Volcano. It is close to several easy trails too.

  • The museum has a small exhibit about the history of the area and the eruptions at Lassen. There is also a short video that can be viewed. This doubles as a visitors center with souvenirs for sale.

  • I enjoyed the Loomis Museum and the surrounding Manzanita Lake and Lily Pond Trails. The exhibits, signs and 20 min introductory film at the museum were very helpful in describing the site. Both Trails were great especially the very scenic Manzanita Lake Trail
  • Museum part was closed due to COVID but the shop inside was still open. You could see most of the exhibits from the shop part. Very small but packed with information.
  • At the north west entrance to the park, a nice display of antique sismic equipment sits in a small windowed buildinh. The museum is small but the displays do seem informative if limited.
  • helpful staff, served as visitor center of north entrance of lassen np, with exhibitions, theater and shop. dont miss the movie, very informative. like lassen much more after visit it.
  • 06/03/22 Lassen Park opened up Hwy 89 all the way through the park today. The Loomis Museum is located at the Manzanita Lake plaza, and is the first real stop if you enter through the North entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Currently the museum is open Friday - Sunday, 9AM - 5PM. Starting June 20th the museum will be open seven days a week. Beginning October 1st the museum will be open Fridays thru Sundays only during the same hours. There are several museum exhibits available to examine, and a 20 minute long film on the history of the park plays in the auditorium every hour. Also within the museum is a store run by the non-profit Lassen Association. Books, maps, games, patches, pins, magnets and other items are available for sale, and is open during museum hours.
