I thought this was just okay. It did not do much for myself or my family. The music was nice, but I do not think it is worth the money at all.

Lovely grounds during daytime. Night lights were fun. Sculpture on the grounds in the summer is wonderful.

Always great at evening event, and this year's Nightwoods was the best yet. This site is the best way to see and sense the history, spaces, architecture, fun and fresh air of the Berkshires.

There is entry fee into the featured house and it includes a guided tour. Bring your school id for discount. Adults$20. BUT, if you don't want to spend, here is the great news, the entry is free to the common space in the entire estate. You can still see the house up close from outside and enjoy the garden and many sculptures throughout the estate. Cafe is accessible to all and offers amazing backyard well manicured garden views and the views of the forest we lands. The gardens are mesmerizing and offers insight into the lifestyle of people living in this estate. It was drizzling during our visit and the greeter at the booth kindly offered us the umbrellas. She was very polite and explained us things we can do for free. The hike down to the mountain was about 7 minutes and I believe taking your car down there is allowed. I saw few cars driving down there. You can ask how. Overall, I am coming here again for more history.

Wow, we had a dog so only went on the grounds but that was so lovely. And free. Great trails thru big old tended forests. Lovely sculpture tour. Then amazing gardens with lovely lime tree walk. Enjoyed a nice snack on the back patio. I’d come often to hang if I was in the area.

Had a really nice time here learning about Edith Wharton's life and viewing her home and gardens. The house is breath taking and the gardens are beautiful. We did the self guided tour in the house. I kind of wish I did the guided tour. I could hear the girl. It was very informative. We did the guided tour of the garden and it was great. We stopped at the bookstore as well. We did not eat at the cafe,. It it's looked great. We had brought lunch so we sat on this outdoor tables. Such a great day. Worth the $20 per person..

The Mount is an historic house museum that belonged to Edith Wharton which she built and designed in 1902. It contains a vibrant cultural center with a variety of tours, programs, and events for the public to enjoy. It is considered a National Historic landmark. The Mount celebrates the intellectual, artistic and humanitarian parts of Edith Wharton. Her works include classic novels such as The Age of Innocence and The House of Mirth, as well as authoritative works on architecture, design, and travel. The estate includes the main house, stable, greenhouse, and formal gardens. The entire estate was designed as a complete work of art, informed by French, Italian and English traditions, yet adapted for the American landscape. There's also a Terrace Cafe that serves seasonal fare and refreshments against the backdrop of the gardens. The Mount is the perfect day trip for the family, couples, and groups. Take a guided tour or go at your own pace . The rich history will take you back and appreciate Edith Wharton's generosity and academic brilliance she accomplished.

So I'm only revealing the mount for the night time experience. I believe they caught the night Woods at the Mount? $22 a person. It's pretty decent value for a 40 to 50 minute walkthrough where they have walkways lit trees, lit the Italian garden, decorate it and went very well with a changing light show. You can go inside the main house but not for a tour only to use the restroom and then outside they have hot drinks and seating areas with heat lamps. There is also constant relaxing music playing as you walk through the woods and pathways. It was a very neat experience. We are so glad we went. Several people working were very knowledgeable of the woods, the home and the area. I'd suggest waiting until well after sunset so that it is as dark as possible so that everything really stands out and pops.
