Wow! A free museum in a really cool historic building. Great exhibits. Lovely building. A bit confusing to get around, but they have maps available. Well worth a visit. Plan on an hour to an hour and a half.

I really enjoyed our visit here while in Little Rock. The Old State House Museum is the original state capitol building of Arkansas and the oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi River! All the staff I encountered here was friendly and welcoming; I met Jimmy and he was able to tell me about the knife fight that broke out between two of the legislators. Lots to see and learn. The museum has free admission but accepts donations to preserve this beautiful building and its history.

Really enjoyed the exhibits in this museum. There was plenty of info on the building and renovations of the Courthouse itself and also exhibits on Barton Coliseum, governors of AR, etc Another visit is needed to finish the 2nd floor exhibits!!

Love the creaky wood floors. This museum is full of history they rotate the inventory periodically so it's different everytime I visit. My favorite room is the first ladies dress room. You can feel the ghosts of the past all around you.

The museum was very interesting. The movie was not showing at the time we were there, but the gentleman at the desk gave us a brief discussion of the history. Then we proceeded in our own time enjoying the museum. We were particularly interested in the information about the repairs done on the building and foundation. If you enjoy music from the '60s, you will want to spend plenty of time in the display of beautiful guitars and pictures of performers. There are also gowns worn by former first ladies of Arkansas. There are many other displays that you may want to see when you visit, so be sure and allow enough time to see everything of interest to you.
