Explore the impressive collection of pre-20th-century European art that fills the rooms of The Getty Center. Nestled in the hills overlooking Los Angeles, the six-building complex, notable for its new-age architecture and expanse of landscaped gardens, features exhibits of 19th- and 20th-century photographs, sculptures, and paintings. Take your time wandering through the museum’s sculpture garden, or have your picture taken with Van Gogh’s "Irises." Pack a picnic to have in the gardens while taking in a panoramic view of the city. While admission to the center is free, you must pay to park a car. Put The Getty Center at the forefront of your travel plans using our Los Angeles trip itinerary maker site.

Great museum with lot of amazing paintings from internationally renowned artists. The drive up the hill with the small „train“ is great fun, entry is free but good luck getting there without a car (parking available for a considerable fee). Narrow parking spaces underground. It’s a great place to just walk around and let your mind wander, beautiful views over LA as well.

Awesome cultural experience overall. Great mix of art and culture in four pavilions of two floors, including paths to incredible outdoor scenes and vistas to Los Angeles County and the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful outdoor gardens showcasing a variety of fauna. A beautiful day under the sun and inside galleries. I don't know what's more inspiring, the artwork or the views!

Fun little tram ride up to the entrance of the Museum. It was very interesting seeing all the historical art inside, and the staff were very friendly. The outdoor areas were beautiful and had fantastic views into Los Angeles. All of this for the fantastic price of $0. Would highly recommend, even for those who just want to go for the views.

Everything about The Getty has an amazing open and expansive feel. The architecture alone will blow you away, and I must say, the blend of art and architecture as you enter the facility is sublime. It has a definite west coast feel for me. The sheer size and vastness of the spaces are very artfully revealed only slowly, as there is only one route of entry. I don’t want to spoil it though, so eyes up when you enter! The Garden is a living work of art. My feelings for just how cool that space is would fill far more than a Google review! Plan for at least two days visit if you’re deeply into art. The collection is huge. 4 very large exhibition buildings. Follow the guideline for free tickets. You need to make a reservation for parking, as it’s a limited space parking area. You park in a garage and ride a train to the top of the hill and the entrance to the facility. It seemed handicap friendly everywhere. The spaces are all very roomy and open. It was quite busy but I never felt crowded.

The museum is really pretty! They got some good exhibition, but what is more breathtaking is the view of LA, their garden, and the glow of the California sun on the building. Would highly recommend to walk around and explore all the different corners as each turn gives you some pleasant surprise! Remember to book the ticket in advance, even though the entrance is all free!
