    The boardwalk weaving through the forest was magical. We felt elflike ourselves. There was so much vegetation that you could imagine was growing miniature along with the oaks.

    The Elfin Preserve is a small magical forest with trees that grow only so big due to the microclimate. There is a spot or two that could be out of "Lord of the Rings" or some other magical movie...

    It's not a long walk, but you can get a good view of the bay and Morro Rock. Some of the oak groves have very gnarly looking trees.
