  • This is another lovely Lusby destination known for the opportunity to find some ancient shark teeth, by serendipity at times. Nice place to relax on the beach sitting in a chair.

  • The beach is bigger and we found a few sharks' teeth. Going in the morning is, of course, ideal. I see a lot of complaints about the rangers scooping up the big teeth, but so much of shark tooth...

  • Park is lovely as is the beach access. We unfortunately picked a dreadfully hot/humid/breezeless day to be there but I would highly recommend. Beautiful view of the cliffs and lovely beach area to sift for sharks teeth. Nice hike/walk to the beach, maybe a half-mile or so, on a well-maintained trail with bathrooms/showers at beachhead.
  • What a beautiful hidden gem in Calvert County. We visited shortly after a storm and were able to find quite a few shark teeth and stingray fossils. It was mid October on a Saturday and not very crowded. The park staff was so nice and the bathrooms near the visitors center were pretty clean. We can't wait to come back!
  • Love this unique bayfront park. Perfect mix of history and nature. Interesting trails to explore with forests, paw paw groves, lakes, and beaches. Only planned for a short visit while passing through, but definitely could spend an entire day and then some. I was there off season (Halloween weekend) so the place was almost empty. Saw snakes and a fox.
  • Gorgeous beach with abundant prehistoric shark teeth to be found. We went to Calvert Cliffs first and found none. This beach is wide with nice water and great for the beachcomber. The only bad thing is that they close so early. They enforce a 5pm closure even in the summer. There is an entrance fee of $8 and a hilly hike down but they do have handicap parking with no hike plus outdoor shower and bathrooms right at the beach. I recommend walking out to the observation deck side for less crowds and more shells and shark teeth. A sand sifter will yield more treasures.
  • Pretty cute little beach. The walk from the parking lot took us about 15-20 minutes. The hard part is going up the hill on the way back. Sadly, we didn't find any shark teeth but other people did. Bring a sifter and something for shade.
