We had a fantastic experience seeing and learning about the Hay House. Our guide, Shy, was bashful about us being one of his first tours, but he was fantastic. He did an amazing job showing us all the wonders of the Hay House, and answering all our questions. It was amazing to walk through living history, and try to imagine what life was like when the house was built. We had an amazing time, and I would recommend this tour to anyone who's interested in historical Georgia or architecture. The additional fee to see the top floors is worth it as well. Climbing the spiral stairs to the top of the house was an experience, and well worth it.

Our 8 yo daughter found out about the Hay House, so we stopped on our way up to Helen. Deborah, our tour guide was fantastic and shared so many interesting things about the house. The extra $5 to go up the cupola was well worth it. So cool. The stop exceeded our expectations!

This tour was amazing! I did the special behind-the-scenes tour and it was awesome! Got to look behind every door and see all the "secret" places. The house is beautiful and our guide was so knowledgeable. This was, hands-down, my favorite house tour in years!

An awesome historical house, a perfect place to find history that never made it into the books. If you live in Macon or simply just visiting, take a few hours and take a tour. If you are touring when the weather isn't too hot, take the extended tour upstairs. It's just another $5 and definitely worth the view. Tours start every hour.

A beautiful house and a great tribute to a storied piece of Macon history. There is parking along the street in front of the house and some, limited, parking in a small lot behind the house. You enter through the back of the house (not the street side). This may look like a 3 story house but it is actually 7 stories with lots of extras. Tours usually start on the hour and are provided by a knowledgeable person on the history of the house. If you come early, you can pay and look around the first floor where there is a wealth of information, china, a gift shop, and displays of the various rooms and items. The tour takes you to the upper 2 floors and then the tour guide asks if you are willing to pay $5/person to see the upper floors. It is well worth it. They are updating most of the rooms in the house but the rooms that they have already restored are wonderful. They have faux wainscotting that looks real, large round pocket doors, curved tiffany windows that move up and down, and lots of other beautiful and unique features. The whole house is beautiful and the tour is fascinating. It tells the history of the house and the area through the eye of the owners and parts of their houses. The entire tour takes about 1.5 hours. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about the area.
