  • This was a nice respite from extreme heat wave while camping in the area. Only downside was no bathrooms at beach location so if you need to change into a suit or out of one use the Ranger office where bathrooms are located or drive into the campgeound and use their bath house which is what we did. The other issue is the sand is quite brown, not white and it was scorching hot and you really have to wear your shoes or sandals down to the waters edge and leave them there. 😉 The water was quite warm, most of the beach bottom was sandy then further out small rocks and pebbles. There is no shaded areas at the beach itself so many bring their own pop up canopies which is smart. It is a wonderful asset to have this area accessible for anyone to use free of charge and we appreciate the state keeping it free to use.
  • A friend and I visit nearly every year. It was just past peak color and the trails were completely covered in leaves, adding to the already challenging rocky ride. Very scenic late fall ride.
  • Beautiful park. I was lucky to get a site near the lake. The stars were gorgeous at night. It was extremely hot while at this park, so I wasn't outside a lot. Showers/toilets were decent. Steep incline getting up to the park! Narrow roads as well.
  • Great beach and lake. If you are in the area it is worth the trip. There is some shade with the trees and a boat launch.
  • Great little state park hugging Nolin Lake. There is a small, very crowded campsite here for both campers and tents. There is also a public beach filled with sand and a designated swim area safe from boaters. There is plenty of parking as well as a restroom/shower building and a boat launch. We enjoyed the day swimming and hanging out. Dogs are not allowed, but rule isn't enforced.
