  • Cool place to visit! When we were there they had all sizes of trout. Some were very nice sized, my son asked if he could fish there! LOL. We got some food out of the quarter operated dispenser and had fun feeding the fish and watching them devour the food. Check it out! Great for kids of all ages. Free to visit.
  • My family & I love visiting the fish hatchery, the kiddos have a blast feeding the trout and going on the swinging bridge! Only thing I worry about is my daughter being so excited to feed the fish that the electrical fence makes me extremely cautious as sheโ€™s trying to toss the food to them although I understand the need of a fencing of some sort.
  • Have came here since I was a kid. Free to the public. You get a cup of fish food to feed the trout. My kids really enjoy it. They also have some trails to walk and don't forget the swinging bridge!
  • Visit with a group or by yourself. Very informative, educational videos and signage explain well how trout are raised. Multiple species of trout are raised here year round to replenish local streams in the state of Iowa. You cannot fish IN the hatchery, but there's a nice wall along the stream adjacent to the parking lot with several areas to fish from.
  • Fun place with mowed/concrete pathways, handicapped casting spots and free food to feed the fish. It is pretty cool to see them at every stage
