Learn about the ancient Anasazi people with a visit to Manitou Cliff Dwellings, where you can experience the lives of these cliff dwellers in a hands-on environment. The Anasazi lived southwest of this spot, but the reconstructed cliff dwellings were built from pieces of the original dwellings found at a collapsed Anasazi site. The materials were transported piece by piece and placed together to closely resemble the original site. Because this is a reconstruction, you are invited to touch, feel, and climb on the dwellings. Notes posted throughout provide information on the Anasazi people and how they lived, but the reason why they left remains unknown today. The museum and gift shop offer further information on the history of this group. This place was truly amazing. We loved the self guided tour where you can climb all over and through everything. The gift shop was huge and the museum was great.

It was smaller then I thought. Took all but 15 minutes to walk around, very crowded. I guess it's one of those places you have to see once.

A truly unique experience. Visitors have the freedom to touch and crawl through nearly all areas of the dwellings. Interesting descriptions are posted throughout. The gift shop is large and full of interesting finds. This would probably be about a two maybe three hour adventure if sometime is bent in the gift shop. The on-site museum is small but interesting and adds to the educational component. It is certainly worth a visit with admission costs very reasonable.

We had an amazing time here. This museum is wonderful for adults and kids alike! Cliff Dwellings, museum and gift shop have all together the perfect size for a lovely day trip! The Cliff Dwellings are great and we loved to explore all rooms and read the info. There isn’t too much text and it was informative. The museum is beautiful and has many different pieces of art and offers an unexpected and loving composition. The timeline about the Cliff Dwellings inside the museum is so cool! The gift shop is outstanding and has so many things to explore too. The literature collection is great! Super friendly staff, absolutely sweet people! Thank you! We will recommend this place to everyone 🤍

What an amazing time exploring Colorado Springs and all it has to offer. The cliff dwellings were surely something for us to experience. The temperature near the dwellings was so nice and cool. It was very hot on the day we visited. I was fascinated by the way the dwellings sit nestled on the mountain side. I was fascinated by the plants and appreciated the signs. The cafe was closed but the museum was opened…if the cafe would have been opened it would have kept us longer exploring.

I saw a lot of posts talking negatively on this place, basically equating it to a tourist trap. It’s 100 percent worth going to! It’s not huge, exploring the dwellings and museum took about an hour. But it’s a really unique experience and the views from the dwellings looking out into the mountains was majestic. A lot of fun.

We stopped in on our way home from Denver. What a great find! Rich in history. The dwellings were awesome to explore. The museum had no shortage of beautiful and interesting exhibits. And the gift shop… We were blown away by not only the selection, but the pricing. There’s no way you’re not gonna find something you just can’t live without. Overall we really enjoyed the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!
