Outer Banks Distilling, Manteo

I'm not a rum drinker, but the pecan rum is really nice. They made an old fashioned that surprised me. Well done. We had the kids so didn't stay long, but the staff was inviting and the atmosphere plenty friendly.

One of my favorite distilleries that I have ever visited. I only had a chance to meet and talk with Matt and Scott and they are some of the most personable guys. We talked at length about ideas and projects they had in the works. I am not a huge RUM drinker but every single one of their products that I have tried, I have loved. They take great care in their crafting of Rum and I look forward to catching up with them again many more times as I continue to visit.

This is a great micro-distillery that specializes in Rums only. on our trip we sampled three rums, the regular white rum, a gold rum which was aged in Bourbon barrels, and a flavored rum with pecans and honey. On-site they also have a small lounge where you can try cocktails which we tried three different ones and they were all very good.

One of the best distillery tours we’ve been on, and we’ve been on many. Full of character and passion. Make sure to leave time at the end to visit the cocktail bar on premises, where they mix up tasty drinks using the rum.

Perfect way to spend an hour. We did the mini flight tasting and enjoyed a couple of cocktails that were truly wonderful. The bartender is an amazing mixologist.
