Nestled in the core of the Florida Keys, The Turtle Hospital rescues, rehabilitates, and protects injured and sick sea turtles. Since 1986 the center has worked to raise awareness of the dangers sea turtles face. The staff conducts research on turtle health and returns wounded turtles that are healed to their natural habitat. Some turtles cannot live in the wild due to surgeries or permanent disabilities, so the hospital cares for its permanent residents. To take a tour and see the turtles, be sure to call well in advance; slots are limited and fill up quickly. It was a very interesting and informative tour. I do think that a 90-minute tour is a bit too long. We don't need to hear the history of so many of the turtles under treatment.

Great stop for our tween and teen. It’s very educational. Personally I wouldn’t bring young children. You first watch a presentation about turtles, Q and A. Then you go see the turtles. This is for kids and adults who want to learn about turtles and rescuing them. They give great resources too! Super informative, but a little hot. Lots of shade, they have is a bottle of water but it was a hot summer day, nothing you can do about FL summer heat outside.

Took the kids here today and we all really enjoyed it! Lots of neat information plus getting to see the different turtles. Staff was great and very friendly. Had an added bonus of seeing tons of huge iguanas as well. My kids are 8, 10 and 11 and were entertained and loved every minute

Went here on Christmas Eve and it was so fun. Tons of people came to see the turtles even though it was a fairly cold day (around 50 degrees). Your tour cost and all gift shop purchases go towards the care of the turtles! Our tour guide was so informative and funny. Definitely recommend this tour!

I cannot express how wonderful this place is. We just happened to stop by after seeing their sign and am I glad we did. They do a wonderful job of rehabbing and releasing (when possible) injured and sick sea turtles. The tour is spectacular and I had no idea I would leave there loving sea turtles. We just went to our local aquarium in Salt Lake City and it turns out, the sea turtle there was helped by the Turtle Hospital. This place is amazing

What an amazing experience. So educational. Our guide did a wonderful job at guiding our group. We even plan on adopting one of the 5 sea turtles that they have up for adoption for just 35$ a year. Great job and such dedication you all have.
