The museum is well laid out and gives a good idea of early settler life. The desk woman was very helpful and friendly - sorry I didnt get her name. The man who guided us through the two structures...

Well worth seeing! I would recommend knowing some about the history of Marietta before going. David McCullough’s “Pioneers” is a good choice. A special guided tour of the Rufus Putman house is...

Very interesting, lots of amazing displays. They actually built the museum around the Putnam house! There are 3 levels of exhibits, plus the house and even some neat hands-on stuff for kiddos. The gift shop has a wide array of interesting things, very reasonably priced.

We were not expecting what we got. We took the guided tour. Which lasted about hour, and found that there is an entire house inside the building. We learned about the house and its occupants over the time that it was part of the fort and after. The guide was great and moved everyone from room to room, pointing out original items from that time period. We definitely recommend this tour!

Absolutely beautiful museum and town. The enclosed Putnam House was tremendous! Definitely take the tour. We will absolutely need to go back for a longer visit, there was so much to see and learn.

I visited here for the first time last Friday and would definitely go back. There are many great artifacts to see!

Great museum on the history of Marietta. They have actual houses from the early settlement on site.
