Lansky, Memphis

A visit to the Beale Street area would not be complete, especially for Elvis fans, than a stop at the original Lansky Bros. Clothing store location where Elvis bought a lot of his early 50's clothes. The store in well stocked and features knock offs of some of Elvis's iconic jackets and shirts. While interesting, I cant imagine where I would wear them today. They are also not cheap. The store also carries a good selection of other interesting clothes that you would not find in many other places. Some of these I would certainly wear today. The store can be busy at times with so many fans wondering about. However, staff are always friendly if your shopping or just browsing. When I decided to try on some shirts they were very attentive and made sure I found what I was looking for and made sure the fit was right. You can also get some posters and books about Lansky Bros. association with Elvis. Pop in if your in Memphis. Its a lot of fun.

This business is located in the Peabody Hotel and is definitely open and AMAZING!

This place has some incredible history and some really stylish clothing. I can be very picky with what I buy; never before have I walked into a store and instantly fell in love with something I saw on the shelf. This was my first time there and I now have three very nice shirts. Even if you don't purchase anything, go there for the history. See the photos, match the outfits, read the stories and enjoy the experience. The staff are also really polite and helpful. If you haven't been, take a break from your Memphis tour and check it out.
