  • This was our first stop in the Park; it was a good introduction and the Park Guide that was there was very informative and happy to talk to us.

  • Gorgeous views of the pits and small house. Unfortunately, a lot of the places were closed either due to construction at the museum or road work. It's an amazing drive and lots of look outs and places to hike to. It's just unfortunate that a lot of the places were closed. Bring water or a camelbak for the hikes as well as some good footwear.
  • A relatively short and easy hike (10-20 mins with not a bad elevation change) to a nice little ruin. You get to walk around the ruin and climb a little ladder. This hike is great for young children and the path is pathed, so it could be wheelchair accessible.
  • We enjoyed the short walk on the paved trail down to this fascination archeological site. The ranger at the site was very informative and answered all of our questions. Be sure to take the time to go here when visiting this the Park.
  • This self-guided cliff dwelling tour is the only one in Mesa Verde you do not need a ticket for. It’s only about a mile round-trip with a good downhill uphill. I love this one because it’s like some of the coolest things in the park wrapped up in one dwelling. You get pit-house, cliff dwelling, and a petroglyph panel.
  • Super cool place to visit. Guides are available at site to answer any questions. Go early, it gets hot! You can buy drinks and snacks at the kiosk or just bring your own.
