  • Very beautiful place. You need a 4x4. At nighttime wind blows strong. Must have a plenty of water, and food and extra 5gallon fuel tank.

  • Remote and beautiful. 2-1/2 hours from the strip. Would recommend a 4x4 even though we didn't need to use it while driving there. I could have spent the entire day exploring just here. If I did it again, I would park near the northwest side of the wall instead of following the signs all the way to the dead end and then walking down the face to the dunes.
  • Got here Dec 2022 with my 2001 F-150 Super crew 4x4. Truck had no problem getting here. Place is GORGEOUS! A regular car can get to Whitney Pocket on a very rough paved road. Past that will probably violate a rental car agreement. The washes are less rough than the roads. We topped off the gas in Mesquite. Only civilized thing out there was one porta potty at Whitney fold. Bring one or a shovel. I'm taking the Jeep on the next visit.
  • Wow! Talk about off the beaten path. I saw nobody on the way down the 30 mile road/trail on the way in or the way out. Nobody here on a Monday! What a great place to enjoy lunch and take in the amazing scenery
  • 30+ miles out a dirt road to a beautiful little canyon with palm trees and donkeys that come to drink the water! Very Sandy sections four-wheel drive highly recommended.
  • Beautiful scenery, it's a shame however a majority of the fins are destroyed. Both occasions I visited I witnessed young children basically kicking them over or standing on them while parents paid zero attention to them. The spot is still an amazing visit regardless.
