  • Fun location to visit if you have never been there. Remote location and the scenery is nice, especially in spring when the desert flowers are blooming.

  • This is but one of many interesting spots within the Gold Butte National Monument 22 miles south of Riverside, Nevada. The road is paved but very worn and can be traveled by any vehicle. Wonderful...

  • Rough ride in our camper, but worth every mile of it! Stunning views every direction. Go and enjoy! You won’t regret one second of this visit.

  • Great place for free camping. Beautiful scenery and quiet. The 20 mile road to the place is a little rough. Actually it's a lot rough.
  • Fun place to go to, especially if you wanna get lost on some dirt roads. We've been here a couple times, nothing super special but the rock formations and colors are very pretty. Careful going during the rainy season because last time we went there were flash floods.
  • Neat sandstone outcroppings in a somewhat remote area near the Nevada-Arizona-Utah border.
  • Great place. The road isn’t too bad. We did it in a van.
  • We stayed overnight at Whitney Pocket. There are several fairly level 'sites' that will accommodate a good-sized RV. We were there the third week of May and it was reaching 100° by 3-4pm. The road from Bunkerville to Whitney Pocket is a fairly rough but paved road. It took us almost two hours to go 20 miles, but that was with the travel trailer. There are several sandstone formations in the immediate area that are very colorful and some are heavily pitted and look like they've been eroded from the inside out. We left the trailer at Whitney Pocket and drove an additional 15 miles into the desert to see Little Finland. Well worth the effort to get there if you have a high-clearance vehicle, preferably with 4WD.
