Pleasant small park with lovely bay views. Only $2pp to enter. We enjoyed strolling round the grounds but didn’t go into the house.

The Barnacle is a true hidden locals gem in Coconut Grove, FL. What I love about it as a local is there are often events on the grounds such as the French Horns concert I'm going to with my family...

A hidden gem? I think so😀 We were looking for a nice place just to relax and find Some peace and quiet from the busy streets of Coconut Grove on a Sunday afternoon. Bingo! This park may be small but it’s absolutely full of amazing features. The grass is super soft and fresh the views of the water brings in fresh air and beautiful sunlight. Volunteers who stand in front are always nice and sweet.

It's a small park with walking/biking trail, restrooms and historic house. Admission is $2 per person and the park closes at 5 PM. Most of the trail is shaded by trees so it's good to take an afternoon stroll here. You can learn about the plants, the pioneer, and the history of Coconut Grove here. You'll need to sign up for the guided tours if you want to see the inside of the house.

For what it is… and for a minimum $2 per person donation for a self-guided tour (not including the $3 per person guided tour inside the house), this park provides a nice getaway from the populated commercialism of Coconut Grove. It is well worth it for the pleasant, self-paced walk back in time…

We took the tour of the house with the nicest lady named Ami today. She knew so may details of the family, the development of the property, even to the history of the builders. If you are visiting go by the park office next to the house and inquire about a guided tour, we've been two other times but never took the tour. We were all so pleased we did today the house was incredible!

We were walking down the main street when we noticed the park signs. We decided to head down the path of absolute beauty & take a few photos. About 1/2 way down the path we were stopped by a lady who said we had to pay by credit card to go any further. We found this quite odd since nothing said you had to pay anywhere? We didn't know if it was reL or not and since we were under time constraints, we decided against going. We wanted to return later, but the thought of paying another $20.00 to park our vehicle for another hour or two was simply outrageous. The part we did see was absolutely beautiful, but maybe next time.
