Nice views from the parking area and from the metal observation tower nearby. Also several hikes that can be accessed on the road to the top.

We're big fans of the Ozark trail and this is one of our favorite mtn range trail heads to hit. It's rugged, beautiful, and one of the most sense of accomplishment trails to hike. Go towards the devils tollgate and get some great scenic pictures along the way. Many water sources if you need, but always always boil. Enjoy some camping at the camp spots or do your disperse camping...just obey the rules please.

While on a road trip from Fort Collins Colorado to Key West Florida & back in late March 2022 we spent the night at the nearby Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park, so we had to check out the highest point in Missouri! It was a very chilly and cloudy day so we didn’t spend much time here, but it was pretty cool be on top of Missouri! It is a very rustic location. We checked out the campground and decided not to stay there. It was totally empty on this March 31!

Good, secluded trail with a couple scenic views and amazing waterfall. I did the hike from Taum Sauk to Johnson Shut Ins State Park and I was satisfied, but it was a very difficult hike due to the rocks, elevation, and heat. Also beware of ticks!

Neat area, the lookout needs some TLC as the signs are faded but the park itself is nice to visit. The trip to Mina Sauk Falls is worth the hike.

A wonderful hike on my birthday to the highest point in Missouri. Easy paved walk to plaque. Hike about two miles then path got muddy from the nights rain and rocky, so we decided not to go all the way to the Falls. It was beautiful 🍂🍁🍃🍁🍂🍃
