Railroad Museum & Magic City Express, Minot

We had a great time here. We were visiting from the UK 🇬🇧 and staying in Minot. I took a lot of pictures.

Great stop, even if you are not a train fan! My family stopped by this train museum because of my 8 year old son. This museum is a nice gem. Many artifacts that I normally don't see, such as the different sizes of rail with cross-sections. There are several rolling stock outside the museum with historical narratives posted in the refurbished caboose. The other caboose is a work in progress. The museum is two stories, plus a basement. The main floor and upstairs has a variety of historical artifacts from local history. We enjoyed the working railroad crossing gate. The staff showed us the club layout that covers most of the basement. Very clever and well done layout! Staff was super friendly and were excited to share history and local club information. There is a small gift shop which has some nice collectibles, especially from the local historical railroads. Please visit!

If your in Minot with some time... Definitely check out this lil gem! Awesome history. The mini train setup is amazing & kids area is a nice touch!

This business is located in The Minot Industrial Historic District which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. I really wanted to check out this Museum but it was not opened when I was in Minot.

Fantastic place for both, the railway amateur or diehard. Appreciated the great folks working there with their abundant wealth of insight, who made it all that much better.
