Very serene place. Beautiful view. Definitely worth the short trip off the highway. I second the reviewers (below mine) warning about snakes. This year's visit had me sighting a smallish rattler sunning himself.

Not far out of the way, two for the price of one. Great view as mentioned. The SE most steps still has the snakes, we counted two. They were NOT rattler snakes, but could still surprise you. They have holes and room under the steps. There was an old snakeskin too. This was Mid June, 2020.

Worth the side trip. Beautiful location overlooking the Missouri River. CAUTION! There is a rattlesnake living in a hole at the top of the steps to the monument.

made a point of stopping here during a road trip. really quiet place, yet interesting. the views of the hills and the Missouri river are really nice
