Thompson Park, Monroe

When the weather is great, so is this park! Kids had fun at the playground, the animal park is a cute distraction. Parking was easy to find and free. Plenty of tables available for a picnic. The lake view is soothing and very enjoyable. There are activities to do like tennis and basketball, so come prepared.

This park is a treasure, it is large enough, so you can walk and not feel closed in like some smaller town parks. Great place to relax. There is a zoo, lake, winding paths, handball walls, there is a fire tower, frisbee golf, there is a hill for sledding, and basketball courts. In. the summer they have car shows here. This park is a rare treasure.

This is good family picnic area, have lot of grill and tables. Many children play area are there. We see peacock, bird, deers in the cage. There are more places to enjoy. Lake and more parking space are avail.

I absolutely love this place, my dad would take me here when I was little to visit the animals. It was very upsetting to hear that they’re removing the animals but it won’t replace how great this park is! There are plenty of nice views near the lake, there are plenty of different sports you can play here, and it’s big enough to take a nice walk around and enjoy the scenery!

It was a great morning. Got to the park at 9:30 and walked up to the top of the hill. We had our backpack with water bottles, binoculars, bug spray, and dog treats. (We brought Mitzy). We also brought our beach chairs and was pleased to have some shade up there. We sat an hour and a half enjoying the view and wonderful breeze. We stopped at the car to put the backpack and chairs in and went over to check out the animals. Mitzy seemed intrigued by the goats, deer and Peacocks. About 45 minutes later we headed home. A nice peaceful sunny morning at the park. It couldn't have been more perfect.
