We're from Bothell, about ten miles away, and think of Monroe as local. Each of these towns had interesting developments during the latter 1800s and onward. It's interesting to put names and faces..... more

Great stop off to find out more about Monroe history and the towns growth/evolution, including interesting notes regarding early days of the "reformatory farm" and correctional facility.

Knowledgeable volunteers, neat displays, and they put on great programs. They also do nice things like the historical home tours and historical tree tours.

Knowledgeable, friendly volunteers! The museum features an early 1900s jail cell, racetrack history, hand carved native American canoe, local theater artifacts, and much more. They also do great programs such as a historical home tour, historical tree tour, and host the shannahan cabin at the evergreen state fair.

There are friendly and knowledgeable volunteers there. I learned things about the Valley and Monroe I didn't know and I've lived here for over 35 years.
