Considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, Mount Rainier luckily hasn't erupted in the past 100 years. With around 8,000 people a year completing the three-day climb to the top peak, the volcano is popular with experienced climbers. The park is also known for its easier trails, which come with scenic views across the range. Mountain bike trails are available, and you can enjoy snow sports, such as skiing, in the colder months. If you're looking for the perfect picture, check out the reflection lakes where you can capture a stunning image of the volcano and its reflection. A visit to Mount Rainier represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Mount Rainier National Park trip planner to plot your vacation.

Mount Rainier is an excellent trek. It really makes you respect nature. I don't think I have ever been that cold before. Big thanks to my friends for getting me to the top.

Mt Rainer has short growth season due to its high altitudes. In July and August, it’s gorgeous wild flowers. In September, it’s stunning fall colors.

I don’t know if words do this place justice. Just breathtaking. I visited sunrise, paradise, ohanapecosh, and carbon river. My favorite campsite was at ohanapecosh. My favorite trail was pinnacle peak. My favorite pie at paradise lodge was the triple berry. I could write a book about this place! Some helpful tips: I charged my phone and rechargeable batteries at paradise lodge. There are NO showers within the park so plan accordingly. Visit reflection lake either at sunrise or sunset. If you are going to paradise get there early! Pack in, pack out, and stay on trail.

We chose to go here on a Saturday with good weather. The scenery to drive here from Seattle was very beautiful. We climbed the mountain for two or three hours, the more excited we climbed, the scenery above was very beautiful, and we could meet animals. It is a perfect place for family and friends to enjoy themselves together.

This is justtttttt an amazing place. Though it was annoying with the long wait times to get in , it is WORTH the wait .. the view is just magnificent… it’s almost like a dream ! God gift to human beings . One of the best places that I have ever seen in my life . There are few trails and depending on how much you can walk , take those trails . When we went , it was too crowded . Went late summer and there were beautiful wild flowers . Just loved them . We walked for few mins to view the rainier and then walked towards myrtle falls view and back to visitor center . It was just a breathtaking adventure … loved it to the max . A must visit place for anyone who visits WA .. 👍👍👍

What an honour it was to witness this National Park in person. We spent 3 days in Rainier on a Road trip and I have missed it every day since we left. Purple skies, cascade views, meadows of wildflowers, glaciers and much more await you at Rainier! I'd strongly recommend hiking the Mt Fremont trail, hands down the most rewarding trail in the park.

Too good. The peak. The Range. The paradise points. Waterfalls in between. The drive through across the mountains. Nature at it’s best. Loved mount Rainier.
