Brookgreen Gardens plays home to a sculpture park with 1,400 pieces of art, trails, nature reserves, and a zoo. Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington bought the property, which was originally four plantations, to showcase her figurative sculptures in an outdoor environment. Wander through lush, moss-draped coastal vegetation, along riverbanks, and across rich marshland at this National Historic Landmark that opened to the public in 1932. Watch for local wildlife and numerous archaeological sites, or visit the on-site Lowcountry Zoo and its dedicated center for rehabilitating injured animals. • It took for us two days to see everything. We visited on March just before Spring. It’s just so beautiful and relaxing. We stop and take lunch in Harvest restaurant nice view while we eat lunch.

  • I rarely use "Excellent" but this place is. We were there on 2/14, the ceremony was well done and not religious at all. Rodin was of course great, but probably the best was the weather and the major.....  more

  • What a surprising and beautiful place! Took a break from the beach to check it out on our last day in town. We spent 4 hours here and enjoyed the zoo, butterfly house and the sculptures. There was plenty of shade and areas out of the sun. Highly recommended this if you enjoy botanical gardens. The trees with the moss are totally breathtaking. The sculptures and gardens are so peaceful and beautiful. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas.
  • Beautiful place. Amazing sculptures, trees, flowers, everything. Very clean and well kept up. Staff is nice!the gift shop prices were way too high though. Sadly the butterfly garden was closed but tons of animals to look at! Definitely worth the stop!
  • We were headed for the State park but they were at capacity so when we seen this place we pulled in and it was so lovely we opted for an annual pass. There is so much to do here we didn't even finish it all in one day. The gardens and nature trails are magical and the art installations are out of this world. There are lovely indoor galleries, a gift shop with the best honey and other nature's treasures and a really nice museum of sculptures. There are animals and historic markers to explore, smoothies at the cafe and staff are very friendly and eager to converse and inspire your return visit. We will definitely be going here a few times a month at least. Even just being here for lunch breaks from your busy day is worth the annual pass. Thankful the State park was full and we ended up here. My kiddo loves the playground and there is so much to do here even on a hot day. We visited right after the tropical storm and there was enough shade and indoor attractions to be here for a half day! 🙏🥰
  • Visited here Nov 3rd. Ample parking both at the garden and the zoo. I’ve done the zoo in the past and loved it. This visit was all gardens. There is an astonishingly diverse selection of sculptures throughout the gardens and galleries. We spent the entire day meandering throughout the grounds. Truly a very pleasant way to spend a fall day. If one day isn’t enough you pass is good for a week. We took our time and enjoyed the sculptures and read the plaques accompanying them. There is plenty of shade also and benches throughout the gardens.
  • We have been to Myrtle Beach many times but this is the first time we have travel down to visit Brookgreen Gardens. What a wonderful place it was! It was such a beautiful day to get outside and look around. There is so much to do and see and learn! Your general admission will allow you to see the low country, a small zoo, and the sculpture gardens but you have to pay only $10 more to see more historical tours. The general ticket allows you more than one day which you will definitely need. There is stuff to do for the entire family. We even enjoyed the little zoo! All the staff was so nice and helpful for what ever you need. This will definitely be a place we visit again.
