  • I could spend days at the museum. So much thought and care is given to everything they do! It brings history to life! I will go there as often as possible and it's a perfect place to take company.....  more

  • I visited for the Kilroy Coffee event and had the wonderful and fleeting opportunity to meet and listen to several WWII veterans share their stories. I also met with many other veterans that served our great nation. The museum is great to walk around and just immerse yourself in history...not to mention, the team at the Warhawks Museum records Veterans stories so that they are preserved. We saw a safe that had thousands of discs, each representing a veteran.
  • This museum has a large collection of military history from people who served from the state of Idaho. Their plane collection is small, but the aircraft on the display are well maintained and still flown. They have 1 of 3 still flying P51c variants in the world. There are two P40 Warhawks that have a list of Hollywood credits to their name as they were featured in several movies. The main part of the museum is stories, posters, and gear used in the military from WW1 to Vietnam. There are plans we were told to add a 3rd wing to the museum with 2 more aircraft and stories/history from Vietnam to today. Paul or docent was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. As we walked to the different displays, he shared the stories of the people they featured, which was fascinating (for the adults that is). The kids were more interested in the large gift shop, of course, that had a great selection of shirts, aviation centric gifts, and toys.
  • This is one of the best laid-out museums. It says it is the "Warhawk" museum, but there is so much more! The outgoing nature of the personnel made the museum a fun experience. The front desk made sure the kids had a seek and find in the party checking in before us, and they were all different. The 3 volunteers we encountered around the museum were happy to share some unknown knowledge about the displays we were near. This isn't a see it once never go back museum. We will be back!!!
  • Just 20 min outside of boise. $14 entrance fee for adults. Worth it! We spent about 1.5 hours but could have spent more. A lot to read through. Many personal artifacts donated to make this place come to life. Local history. Planes to look at. Planes are functional and we learned they fly out every year in August. Many items in the gift shop. Restrooms in site. Wheelchair handicap accessible.
  • What a great collection of WWII memorabilia and aircraft! The museum is a must see if you are in the area. The air show was like being in a time machine. The old fighter planes, the folks in period dress and the knowledgeable announcers made the day complete. The addition of the F-35 Demo Team was pretty cool too. Highly recommended!
