Create an itinerary including Nelson's Green Brier Distillery
Find out the differences between Tennessee whiskey, bourbon, and moonshine at Nelson's Green Brier Distillery. Housed in the historic Marathon Motors building, the distillery was opened by two of the great-great-great-grandsons of Charles Nelson, founder of the original distillery. Using the brand name of this pre-Prohibition historic distillery, they started producing whiskey using their grandfather's old recipes. The tour includes a walk-through of the production floor and tastings. If you like the taste of caramel, coffee, and pecans, try Louisa's Liqueur, which cherishes the memory of Nelson's widow who took over the business after her husband's death. • Fantastic tour and tasting experience šŸ’Æ This is a must visit if you enjoy history and whiskey. Our tour guide was full of energy and really made the experience great for whiskey enthusiasts to some of friends just learning to like whiskey. 🤩 From our guide to the check in and bar, everyone was excited for us to be there and shared a very similar passion. The team wants to be there to provided every visitor a memorable experience. 🄃 From the cocktail to the tasting you can’t go wrong with the original recipes. It was great to try out the new Nelson’s brothers line up too! The best part is this new line up is nation wide. My only disappointment was that I couldn’t get a Belle Meade limited release. Sadly this was one of my main reasons for visiting the distillery. Regardless, the tour was great, the tasting was very engaging and I learned a lot for a whiskey enthusiast myself. āœ… If this is helpful, don’t forget to give this review a šŸ‘šŸ¼-Cheers 🄃🄃
  • Awesome whiskey tasting! We got to learn the history behind the company, its recent reestablishment, and how the whiskey is made. Throughout which, we got to try three different whiskeys and one liqueur. Jacob did a fantastic job of telling a story that could’ve been dry by engaging the audience and bringing us for a ride. He also gave us important how-to’s on the proper way to enjoy whiskey.
  • Lovely old building, fun story - the 4 samples cost $12 and came with a story telling gentleman that knows the history of this distillery inside and out - worth every penny! Great spirits, fantastic vibe!
  • We just did a tasting, no tour. We tried: Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey, Nelson Brothers Classic Bourbon, Belle Meade Bourbon and Louisa’s Coffee Caramel Pecan Liqueur. The first one was actually really smooth and the Coffee one was good too. I also bought a bottle of the Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey.
  • Would highly recommend visiting this distillery. The tour guide was very informative and Green Brier’s history is fascinating. All 4 drinks during the tasting were delicious.
