  • So glad we visited this gem of a museum. The furniture collection is within an historic house which is part of a collection on the site and you can look at everything. The docents are very friendly....  more

  • The Museum of Homemade Furniture is a step back in time to the mid 19th Century Texas. The museum fills every room with handmade craftsmanship. Beds, cabinets, desks, etc. Are on display to see up close (just don’t touch). Unfortunately pictures are not allowed inside the museum (not sure why). But trust me it’s worth the $8. A much unexpected bonus are the various cottages and buildings on the grounds that show (sometimes demonstrate) skills and crafts of that time.
  • Really cool place to visit. Will probably be back in April when they have more going on. Was kinda dead in January.
  • Heritage Village and the Museum were lovely and we were lucky enough to visit during the Folk Fest. Beautiful place. Knowledgeable, friendly folks. Terrific food and drinks. The museum itself is the gem, though. I look forward to going back and seeing it again.
  • We arrived earlier then they opened but the guide took us for the tour . A small unique stop in history. Come take a trip through time as your host helps you relive the past.
  • Great place to visit and very friendly staff. Be prepared and take some water with you because during the summer, the buildings can be very hot. Would encourage others to visit this little gem.
