  • Connecticut has some wonderful museums. The collection at Yale and the Wadsworth Atheneum come to mind. But this museum exceeded all expectations. The collection extends from the Colonial period...

  • Who would expect a world class museum to be in a spot like New Britain. Well it’s there all right. Easy free parking across the street from the front door. The incredible Thomas Hart Benton mural...

  • The collection is wonderful. American art from the 1800s that reflects our heritage. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a special exhibit of the Hudson River School. I will go back.

  • Small art museum with a good amount of art to see. I wish it was a little bigger, but the quality of art was very good. It has a little bit of everything around every corner. Lots of what they have is from local artists around CT, new and old. Watch out for the security guard when you get there. He'll look at you suspicious, untill you go in lol. If you get here before 12pm on a Saturday, you can go for free and it wasn't too busy either.
  • Nice museum with a wonderful collection of American art through the years. Especially enjoyed the Thomas Hart Benton works, having "reported" on him in elementary school in Camdenton, Missouri.
  • I liked the paintings. My favorite was the Feast of the Redeemer. The benches were cool, each one having a unique design to match the theme of the room it is in. The gift shop had some cool gifts. Although, if you are buying something wooden, check for dents; the cat puzzle I bought was the only perfect one in the store.
  • One of my favorite museums in Connecticut. Great permanent and special exhibits. All this and an adjoining park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. This place is a must stop in Central Connecticut.
  • The museum was very well paced and had many different types of art. So there is definitely something for everyone to like!! It was very nice and I would 100% come again.
