    With a valid government ID, I was able to get through the gate at the US Coast Guard Academy and the guard did not know the museum was closed. He did say the academy was on lockdown. Drove to the...

    My father in law was in the Coast Guard so it was a natural diversion to explore. Some great USCG history plus local interesting facts and details.. Worth the visit

    Awesome museum detailing pieces and facts from every age of the history of the u.s. Coast Guard. The campus was awesome also. The museum is not overly large but it is very impressive and informative. Admission is free but they do have a donation box that you can donate to on the way out which is a great idea. Just keep in mind because it's on the campus you have to have a valid driver's license or u.s. ID to enter since it's a military base.

    Great military museum. There are new exhibits from time to time. A must see for anyone interested in the USCG and Maritime in general.
