Virginia Museum of the Civil War, New Market

Great experience. There open to the public with great hours. They also have a movie room which shows different times and it's included with regular admin. The exhibits are very detailed and I could understand them. Must go!

Lots of neat exhibits here at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War. Conveniently located just off I-81, the histories of the Battle of New Market and the Virginia Military Institute are featured prominently here. Picnic areas outside as well as bathrooms inside and outside of the museum. Plenty of parking. Small gift shop. If you are interested in Civil War history, especially as it relates to Virginia’s role in the conflict, this is an excellent museum to visit. Lots of one-of-kind exhibits and displays.

Very nice museum with a 45 minute video that is very informative. Site has 2 rates, the all inclusive which includes the museum and the battlefield walk, and the other is just the battlefield. We took the all inclusive and had a great time.

Worth a visit for history lovers. Amazing to walk the fields and read the history that happened in each marked area. The views all around make it even more humbling.

Beautiful story and great to learn the REAL history, not just what is taught in school. I learned a lot and the video was interesting. Rained so I didn't get to do the walking tour, but drove by everything.
