Learn about the life and achievements of one of the founding fathers of the nation at Hamilton Grange National Memorial. The former home of the statesman was relocated from its original spot in the country, restored, and reopened in 2011, which is all captured and explained in a short video you can watch on the ground floor. The accompanying exhibit interprets Hamilton's rise from an orphan in the Caribbean to George Washington's right-hand man. Check out rooms on the second floor to admire period furniture, which includes some Hamilton family originals as well as historically accurate replicas. What a piece of history in such a beautiful area ! Please note that they are open on Friday/Saturday and Sunday. I invite you to check their website to have the last updates. I arrived and met with very nice Park Rangers, they were ready to answers all of my questions. The house is very well maintained and we can feel the energy and the story from the past when we get inside. You can have a booklet to guide through the visit. It’s very impressive !

I went during Open House New York's weekend event. That event was free. So my experience would be a little different from a normal tour. The biggest difference was that we went during the evening and the mansion was lit up by candlelight. The lighting was beautiful! Our tour guide was so informative and also funny. I went to the Grange knowing pretty much nothing about it. Learned a lot and got to take some very cool photos. The gallery on the first floor has lots of great info about Hamilton and the Grange itself. Gift shop was small but it has a variety of items. I definitely recommend visiting.

Peaceful, relatively quiet with a nice shady yard. I've just spent time on the grounds haven't taken the official tour inside.
-
Great tour from a volunteer and a nice chat with a passionate ranger. Highly recommend a visit.
-
Fascinating, not at all what I imagined. Great insight into Hamiltons life.
