A serene escape from the city bustle, The Pond offers a sense of seclusion just steps from the busy Fifth Avenue. Take a calming stroll along the winding shoreline shaded by crabapple and forsythia trees and across the famous Gapstow Bridge. This tranquil oasis is home to 240 migratory bird species. The landscape designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux placed this body of water entirely below street level, so the sounds from the street are muffled and you can only glimpse at the building tops over the park walls. The Pond reviews

Nice little pond with plenty of seating around it and did not seem as crowded as other areas of the park.

One of the sites in Central Park, we gazed at it on our big walk around the major sites. The city is so lucky to have this great resource right in the middle of so much dense development.

The pond in Central Park is well worth a visit. The colours on the trees and the stillness of the water is amazing. Recommended.

The Pond located in Central Park, Manhattan is scenic area where you can just relax and enjoy the surroundings, watching the ducks or turtles. Entertainment fishing is allowed ( where you fish for relaxation but return the fish to the pond). Be sure to put on some 'repellent'😉

The Pond located on the southeast corner of the park one of my favorite spots in Central Park 24/7/365. It offers an abundance of riches for photographers with diverse vegetation, a variety of waterfowl including often large egrets and herons, and even a arched stone footbridge.

Such a peaceful place. A popular destination for locals and tourists alike. As it is situated at the entrance of Central Park, it tends to be the centre point for those who wants to quickly get away from the hussle and buzzle around them. Definately a place worth visiting in the summer but the winter colours and the wet weather made for some awesome pictures!

Picturesque duck pond which features a mysterious mandarin duck. This beautiful pond sits at the southeast corner of central park and can be seen from central park south. Situated in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the world, this urban pond has impressive skyline views, beautiful foliage during autumn and the Gapstow bridge seen in many movies. It's a great pond to sit at and feed the ducks and watch people. The area was already heavily trafficked with tourists, but it has become even more famous recently due to a brightly colored mandarin duck which has taken up residence there.

I've always loved Central Park and the pond in particular. But I'm an even bigger fan now after watching the four hottest models (and the fifth in reserve) playing some new game I've never seen before. I can't even remember the name now, (I was so distracted falling in Love) but it was like a mixture of handball and volleyball.
