  • The Strand Bookstore is an iconic landmark store in Manhattan. It claims to have about 18 miles of books in the shop …and I believe them!

  • The Strand Bookstore Manhattan, is a massive repository of books all under one roof, .....not your Barnes & Noble. It encases almost every genre of reading material stacked in 18 miles of books...

  • Amazing array of books on every possible subject. only downside was the PRICE: $12.95 for a leather bookmark??? Disappointing as would have liked a souvenir.

  • Such a great shop. It’s been a staple for years and they have books of all subject matters. There is plenty to see for all types of people. They even have rare books, calendars, bookmarks, and other fine stationary. I would recommend that when you’re in the area it’s to stop in, and you’ll find something to take home. I found a great Robert frost book and even got a free bookmark with my purchase.
  • If you're a book lover, you need to get to The Strand... fast!!! 4 floors of books, and awesome merchandise await you. My girlfriend and I attended a book signing here, and it was very well organized. Masks and proof of vax were required. The only downside was that the store closed at 8pm, and the book signing ended just after 8. So, no opportunity to browse the millions of aisles of books. Oh well, that just means we'll have to go back again. I've been to The Strand in the past, and it's heaven on earth. You can spend hours upon hours here. This is a NYC institution, and is a must visit. You'll walk in empty handed, and I guarantee you'll leave with more than you can carry. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they'll help you find whatever you're looking for. Be sure to check out the third floor rare book room.
  • Even better than what I remember! I went back to buy a tote because I had lost the one I bought in 2015. The old tote had cute owls on it. I love the totes they have with cats and bought a couple but would have loved to see ones with owls. I bought a couple of books as well and might go back to get more if my luggage can handle it. The Strand bookstore is definitely a must see for bibliophiles!
  • Little slice of heaven for a book lover! So many great displays - giving unique perspectives on book recommendations. Getting lost in the rows-upon-rows of shelves is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. And of course it’s always a joy to be able to support an independent bookstore!!
  • Absolutely amazing! Even more spectacular than you’d expect. The rows upon rows of books on three different floors contain selections that are rare and both in new or used states. I found a copy of a book I’ve been looking for for years. And even though it was a bit pricey it was well worth it. This is the bookstore of my dreams. And even the merch items are adorable. I could spend hours here.
