My fiancée purchased us a 4 hour evening trip with Betts Guide Service as a gift and it proved to be one of the best gifts I've ever received. Chad was the absolute best! We are fly-fishing rookies and Chad was a knowledgeable and patient teacher. He put us on fish consistently and we ultimately bagged a 30lb King Salmon-- the biggest fish I've ever fought! Chad went above and beyond, even so far as jumping into the chilly fall water to make sure we landed the fish. He processed the fish expertly and sent us home with enough for weeks. The grocery value of our yield practically paid for the entire experience. Plus Chad was an absolute blast to hang out with. One of the best afternoons I've had in a long time--can't say enough good things!

Went out with josh for a first time for me river fishing, my wife has done her fair share of river fishing but josh was very knowledgeable and got us on the fish and we were able to hook into some nice steelhead and even a beautiful 26 1/2” Brown trout! 10/10 experience will be back for sure!

This trip by far was one of the most incredible ,so many words to describe what a great trip it was. The knowledge about the fishing area the fish itself by far was one of the best full guided trips that I've ever been on in my life I'm 61 and I've been on a lot of fishing trips solo and with guides they really really knew their stuff don't forget the sunglasses LOL.😎😀. This was one of the most uncomfortable times I've ever been fishing. We got yelled at for stepping even an inch off of the X spots marked on the boat because of the guides neck issues. He was chumming with eggs which is definitely not legal where we were and he kept all of the fish that was brought in. He caught a brown trout with an x-rap (a lure with 9 hooks) and kept it not even offering the meat to the guests. Having now spent several years guiding in Alaska for trout, I realized that this was not only poor ethics but simply poor guiding and I hope West Michigan could produce better guides and respect the rivers better.

We had a fantastic time on the river!! Chad was an excellent guide. Very personable, nice boat, and expensive quality year. We fished during November, so the weather was a bit cold. We landed a limit of Steelhead dispite the weather. The guides tried hard, and put us on a ton of fish!!
