Compass Rose Yacht Charters, Newburyport

My friends and I had the most amazing day with Compass Rose Charters last week. Everything was perfect and Captain Gig is not only a very experienced captain but the friendliest man who made sure our day was everything we had hoped for. First of all, the yacht Gia is a gorgeous boat, meticulously clean and comfortable. Our day included a voyage out the mouth of the Merrimack River, down the Annisquam River to Gloucester Harbor and back. Captain Gig pointed out many interesting sights along the way with interesting facts and history. We were served a lovely assortment of appetizers and cocktails. Our trip included stops for swimming and sunbathing. We had such a memorable day and hope we can do it again soon. I very highly recommend Compass Rose Charters. Thanks, Captain Gig and Gia! Our day with you was the highlight of our summer.

Have you ever had the most perfect day that you wished would never end? That was our experience on the yacht, GIA. My husband turned 40 this year and I wanted to celebrate him in a special way. Knowing that if I got invited to one more car parade birthday party, I’d be tempted to drive to the Cape and jump in white shark infested waters, I decided something more intimate was in order. My search for covid safe fun that didn’t require a blow horn and streamers lead me to Captain Gig. From the first minute of talking to Captain Gig, I knew chartering his yacht was going to be the best time. Not only is his resume impressive (Captain Gig was in the NAVY – thank you for your service, sir) but his personality immediately made me wish we were best friends. He is FUNNY. Walking up to GIA was exciting! She is docked on the prestigious end slip and WOW; what a beautiful boat! So clean and so much room for the six of us, plus the captain and his first mate, the lovely Gia (Captain Gig’s awesome wife who the boat is named after). Both Gia and Gig know so much about the Merrimack River and the area. We laughed, ate, drank, played music, learned some history. To my surprise, not one of us fell off the boat! (I was pretty sure after a few glass from my box o’ wine, I was going to be the first to go for a swim). There really was no better way to celebrate my husband turning 40. This year has been tough for all of us and our whole group collectively said that for one perfect day, we forgot about covid and any stressors and were all just happy. It was as simple as that. Thank you so much Captain Gig and Gia. We all thought you were amazing and we will be back next season!

Captain and first mate (wife) we exceptional at making you feel comfortable . Very knowledgeable about not only navigating but the local sites as well. I would not hesitate to give them a try . Extremely knowledgeable captain . His wife is such a beautiful sweet woman they make a perfect match and that directly translates into how your trip will turn out. My family went out Friday with 4 adult children and the trip was relaxing and worry free. This is the second time we chartered this yacht with both outcomes being excellent. You need not to fear using them your one of the family when your with them
