Climb to the easternmost point of the island of Oahu to enjoy the spectacular views from Makapu'u Point. This rocky peak serves as the finish line for many hiking trails and is home to Makapu'u Point Light, a 1909 lighthouse boasting one of the world's largest Fresnel lenses. The perch offers panoramic vistas of the bays on either side, where the waves crash against the rocky cliffs. The rough waves below make for great surfing conditions; alternatively, look out for whales in the surrounding waters. Be aware that the hike out to the point is difficult, and for experienced hikers only. One of the most scenic places in Honolulu. The hike the get to the summit is just a pleasant walk, sightseeing whales 🐳 all over makes the hike such a great activity to do. I highly recommend this hike.

Easy and quick hike up to the top, approx. 20-25 min. The trip to the top was on a gradual incline the whole time. The good thing is the road was paved. Essentially it was a very nice walk. Went here for sunrise and it was simply fantastic. The sky had some clouds but was accented with the most beautiful red sunrise with the ocean as the far as the eye can see.

Good hike! We saw whales and a lighthouse. There were some excellent signs explaining the history of the lighthouse and other object there, like the rock ‘chair’.

Enjoy stunning views on the south east corner of Oahu. Rumour has it that whales frequent this area too. About a 45 minute hike one way. Come early as it gets hot fast.

It is a very beautiful place with a great view. The hike up to the scenic point is short but can be a bit strenuous if you are not in a good health condition and if it's a hot day. Besides that it is very easy
