Bald Mountain, Old Forge

My girlfriend and I hiked up here on 10/03/2022. Trail was a bit muddy and some places quite steep. Trails were well marked and the view up by the fire tower was great. Bathrooms down at the parking area were clean. Overall the hike up to the tower and back took us about 2 hours. Would recommend more than sneakers due to the mud and wet spots along the trail.

Very short easy hike , over used always trash along trail please carry out what you take in . did hike in winter only about 80 minute roundtrip even on ice

Bald Mountain in the Adirondack mountains is easily one of the most enjoyable, easy to moderate hikes I’ve tried in the Old Forge area. Just NE of Old Forge heading towards Eagle Bay, the trailhead has decent parking. The trail is an uphill mix of rock, roots and dirt. There are plenty of views along the way, beautiful rock formations and trees, and a mix of shade and sunshine. It leads up to a Firetower at the top which is nice, but I don’t feel it was as amazing as I thought it would be. The hike and views were amazing though. Just a fun way to spend an afternoon and some energy.

The most beautiful views and the hike was a great way to get your heart pumping!

Difficulty: Easy-Medium (lots of big rocks) Time: Casual 2.5 hours taking our time This hike seemed longer than anticipated, but it was great. Several gorgeous views and the fire tower is so cool. The path is a little tricky, but we saw all ages succeeding the journey.
